Postal 5s includes: (1) Speeding in the vehicle, (2) Sorting mail in the vehicle--mail doesn't fit well in our (2.5) downSized cases, (3) diStracted driving, and (4) Sadism--we now are expected to load the satchel with at least 30 lbs. per loop. Why? I guess postal thinking puts 30lbs. as the optimal weight to fend off a dog attack.

I call it Anti-Lean Six Sigma.

Oh, 100 malfunctioning FSS machines instead of one. OSHA violations. ...Oops, I guess that's 6s.

In my previous company (HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical) we used the Six Sigma process on many different projects. One of the most significant projects I was involved in was identifying an improved process of having parts returned for warranty reimbursement from the manufacturers. The new method had a tremendous impact on our bottom line and my bonus! I think it is a good method for breaking things down to identify where improvement lies.

Thanks MaryCMelchor for some thoughtful ideas! Once these concepts are approved as new products The FCCX pilot will need to incorporate these and other approved products into its infrastructure design.

Interesting discussion! Based on the numbers quoted, it appears that you could charge customers $10 for one year's forwarding. I'd also like to be able to extend for another year (for another $10). There are some bills (like insurance) that only show up once a year. If they miss my address change request and it falls outside the one year forwarding, I'd never know about it. Returns are another interesting area. I tend to think this should be included in the cost of first class mail. It would not be cost effective to try to collect on each return. But, maybe an "extra-first" class rate that does cover returns. Those who don't pay it don't get the returns.

Meanwhile, is there some way I can pay for another year of forwarding?

THANKS!
